🔹The research article of our analyst, Tornike Batavani, has been published in one of the leading scientific journals – Elsevier’s Cancer Epidemiology: “Early and late detection of cancer in Georgia: Evidence from a population-based cancer registry, 2018–2019”. ✅The aim of the research was to study early detection of cancer in Georgia. The study found that a large proportion of cancers in Georgia could be detected early through cancer screening and early diagnosis programmes. Nevertheless, these cancers were still detected at later stages.
✅On the other hand, thyroid cancer might be overdiagnosed in Georgia (overdiagnosis refers to the detection of cases that would not lead to symptoms or premature death even if left untreated). This issue requires special attention and further research.
Our team would like to congratulate Tornike and wish him success in the upcoming projects!
